We also interviewed renowned fashion designer WANG YIYANG about the design of his two lines; while ZUCZUG is sober and featured in department stores, CHA GANG is an  independent clothing line. He talked about Chinese fashion and the concept behind CHA GANG.

[DETOURS] TACTICAL APPROACHES TO URBANIZATION IN CHINA

This exhibition presents ten tactical propositions for the production of urban space in the context of China 's transformation. Each project resists tendencies towards contextual erasure and stylistic appropriation commonplace within Chinese architectural design.

On November 3&4 Fudan University hosted the International Urban Forum in Shanghai, bringing together international experts such as SASKIA SASSEN, JOHN FRIEDMAN and PETER ROWE. Bert de Muynck [co-founder people's architecture] writes  a review on the conference.

PHOTOGRAPHY
This time people's architecture puts the focus on four photographers that capture China's contemporary  transformation. HUGO TILMAN shows Chinese contemporary artists in a different setting. IWAN BAAN shows Jinhua Park, MOMA CCTV and George Bush in Mongolia. EDUWARD BURTYNSKY shows the Three Gorges Dam before the flood, China's recycling, old industry and urban renewal. And finally, Mr. Monkey visits to the China Show in Manchester.
